$500 and $1,000 Scholarships
The Falmouth Military Support Group was organized in 2003
exclusively for charitable purposes. It
is The Falmouth Military Support Group’s mission to provide moral and physical
support to our area service members serving abroad and also upon their return
home. For over eight years we have
continued to provide a meeting place at the Gus Canty Recreation Center, in
Falmouth at 7:00 pm for family and friends to gather in support of our loved
ones. Meetings are currently being held on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each
month.
The Falmouth Military Support Group (FMSGrp) has recently
established a Scholarship Fund, with monies earmarked to assist OIF/OEF
Veterans from Cape Cod in their pursuit of educational opportunities. If you
are a Veteran, just beginning or continuing a program of post-secondary or
graduate studies, you are encouraged to apply for one of our scholarships
ranging from $500- $1,000. These
scholarships are available for the academic year 2011 – 2012. Previous winners may apply. In the last two
years we have given over $6000.00 to our Cape Cod Veterans.
Please write a brief essay
describing your educational/career goals and the type of assistance for which
these funds would be used. Submit the
essay, supporting materials and the application form, found at
www.FMSGrp.org,
to the address below by July 31, 2011.
